Baked Cheese Sticks

These buttery, flaky, biscuit-like bites are perfect as a snack or for any get together. They are easy to make and can be made ahead of time. Serve them with your favourite dip.

1 cup flour
2 tbsp cornmeal
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Water (approximately 10 tbsp)


Preheat oven to 4000F and prepare a baking tray (spray with non-stick oil). Add flour, cornmeal, and spices in bowl and mix. Cube butter and cut into flour. Add cheeses and enough water to form a dough. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/4ā€ thickness and cut into 2ā€ strips. Twist slightly and place 1/2ā€ apart.

Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown. Makes about 25 sticks.
